FT: Swiss prosecutors launch investigation into Credit Suisse and UBS merger

The Swiss Federal Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into the merger of two local banks – UBS and Credit Suisse. In this respect Wrote The Financial Times cited the ministry’s statement.

After the article, the prosecution examines possible criminal law violations by government officials, regulators and heads of these banks.

The prosecutor’s office said in a statement that “many aspects of events around Credit Suisse” call for an investigation to be opened to “determine crimes within its jurisdiction”.

The article states that the prosecution is in contact with the Swiss federal government and regional authorities in this case and intends to question those involved.

Switzerland’s largest bank UBS bought the second largest bank Credit Suisse for 3 billion francs ($3.24 billion), it happened March 19 is known.
