By the end of 2023, Moldova’s economy will grow by 2 percent and inflation will be at 14 percent. About this in an interview with the Chisinau TV channel Vocea Basarabiei stated Veronica Siretsianu-Vragaleva, Minister of Finance of the Republic.
Siretseanu-Vragaleva said: “The situation is not easy, the potential economic growth in 2023 will be 2 percent and with 14 percent inflation, social protection is currently considered insufficient.”
According to him, 2023 was another crisis year for the economy, but the state budget of the country was socially oriented. At the same time, Moldova faced many problems, the main energy crisis.
He added that the government was able to save 5 billion lei ($271.6 million), which was used to compensate for the cold season. Therefore, these funds will be postponed for the next heating season.
