Last year, the price of the Easter basket in Ukraine increased by 23%. This was reported by the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, transmits Ukrainian TV channel “Rada”.
“The price of the Easter basket increased by 23 percent compared to last year. “If last year it cost 972 hryvnia ($26), this year it was at least 1202 hryvnia ($32.5),” he said.
According to Denis Marchuk, vice-president of the All-Ukrainian Agricultural Council, food prices in the country will rise, especially meat and dairy products, at least until Easter. Therefore, most likely, the price increase before Easter can reach 7%.
He added that the increase in prices is recorded every month. However, the increase in price turned out to be much higher than the solvency of residents of Ukraine.
