“The railways in Sri Lanka are among the oldest in Asia, we have 1,500 kilometers of railways, 368 stations in operation. We are planning to develop cooperation with Russia in this field and we expect Russia’s support in the supply of wagons, engines and equipment for the railways.
He added that he also wanted to discuss the training of experts from Sri Lanka in Russia. Country authorities are also interested in developing spare parts production.
