Archer Daniels Midland (ADM), the largest international American agro-industrial company, is considering options to leave Russia. Wrote Bloomberg agency.
The publication attributed the company’s decision to pressure from the US authorities, which demanded that ADM cut ties with Moscow due to the situation in Ukraine.
If the right decision is made, the agro-industrial giant will become the third largest company to leave Russia in this sector, after the Canadian grain trader Viterra and the American Cargill.
Bloomberg described the proposed ADM decision as positive for Moscow as it would give the country greater control over the global food supply and increase revenue from the sale of agricultural products. This is despite the fact that by leaving the American company, Russia plans to affect the income cap.
Bloomberg this week, citing the source reportedViterra’s management, one of Russia’s largest Western grain suppliers, said it plans to leave Russia’s domestic market after the food Cargill.
