US to provide $7 billion to Africa as part of climate change initiatives

US private companies and US authorities will provide more than $7 billion to Africa through green energy projects, agriculture and climate change-related initiatives. This was reported by the White House press service on the occasion of US Vice President Kamala Harris’ visit to Zambia. Wrote agency TASS.

“In response to Vice President Kamala Harris’ call to the private sector for the need to advance and strengthen climate resilience <…> “Across Africa, the private sector has committed more than $7 billion,” the U.S. administration said in a statement.

The money needs to be sent to help around 116 million farmers and promote climate-friendly agricultural practices.

In addition to US authorities, 27 companies and charities will allocate funds, as added in Washington.
