Rosatom State Corporation will implement a new project in the field of wind energy in the Ulyanovsk region. This was announced by the company’s CEO, Alexei Likhachev, at the Composites Without Borders forum.

It was noted that an agreement was reached on the implementation of the project between the Governor of the Ulyanovsk region Alexei Russkikh and the Yumatex company, which is part of the composite division of Rosatom.

As Likhachev emphasized, wind power has traditionally given a strong impetus to the development of related industries, including composites.

“Two industry companies, Yumatex JSC and Novavind JSC, agreed to quickly build the required competencies and supply the first domestic blades to Rosatom’s wind farms as soon as possible,” he said.

According to him, the volume of investments in the project will exceed 2 billion rubles. At the same time, approximately 400 people will be employed in production.

In turn, Russkikh noted that for many years the Ulyanovsk region has developed competencies, improved infrastructure, opened new production facilities, and also established legislation for the development of composite materials and technologies.

“We have chosen this innovative specialty as a key area for the Ulyanovsk region,” said the governor.

Recall that the tenth anniversary forum of “Composites Without Borders” was held on the Expocentre site from 28-29 March. It is an important event in the domestic composite industry.
