The Lithuanian Prosecutor’s Office reported that Ukrainians and Russians engaged in the illegal production of cigarettes of popular Western brands were detained in the country. TASS.
“A group of people who organized illegal tobacco production in the Klaipeda and Kretinga regions were detained. 11 people were detained, including five Ukrainian citizens and two Russian Federation citizens.
The public prosecutor’s office did not specify what role the Russians and Ukrainians were assigned in the criminal plot.
It was reported that law enforcement officers managed to identify both the factory operating in the Kretinga region and the storage facilities in Klaipeda. Products worth 1.6 million euros were seized. It is assumed that 30 million cigarettes worth around €5 million could be made from the discovered raw materials.
