Moldova made test deliveries of electricity, which it had previously purchased from Europe, to Ukraine. The agency TASS writes this, citing the message of the Moldovan state company Energocom.

“Energocom sold 1 MWh of electricity to Ukraine in test mode. According to the Moldovan energy company, previously volumes of this electricity were purchased in the European Union and routed to Ukrainian suppliers through the territory of the republic. Moldova got the opportunity to make such transactions after joining the European auction site JAO,” he continues.

Now Moldova’s main electricity supplier is Moldavskaya GRES, owned by Inter RAO, which supplies the republic with around 244,000 MWh at $73 per MWh. This accounts for about 88% of all electricity imports to the country. Moldova is buying the remaining volumes in Romania.
