The European Commission will provide assistance to farmers from three EU countries (Romania, Bulgaria and Poland) on the ground that they have suffered losses due to falling prices of agricultural products. The decrease in prices was due to the increase in Ukrainian imports. In this respect informs Bloomberg, citing the statement of Janusz Wojciechowski, Commissioner for Agriculture of the European Commission.

“This is a support for countries whose farmers have been hurt by the increase in imports from Ukraine (agricultural products – socialbites.ca). We are seeing an increase in supply and a huge increase in imports to neighboring countries,” he said.

According to him, the total financial aid package to the three countries will amount to around 56m euros. Of these, 29.5m euros goes to Poland, more than 16m euros to Bulgaria and more than 10m euros to Romania, the agency reported.
