The same law also amends the Russian Criminal Code, aimed at easing liability for certain crimes related to tax evasion and other payments. Penalties of up to five years instead of six can now be sought for such offenses.
In addition, the maximum prison sentence was reduced from seven to five years for concealing the organization’s funds and not paying taxes, and for the organization’s avoidance of paying insurance premiums for compulsory social insurance – from four years to three years.
The law will take effect in 10 days.
