Magnit will start selling Sombrero tequila under its own brand

According to the news of the Kommersant newspaper, Russian retail chain Magnit has agreed with Tatspirtprom to sell its own brand Sombrero tequila at off-chain retail and restaurants.

Sombrero tequila is currently imported by Magnit from Mexico for its stores only. Tatspirtprom, the retailer’s partner, alcohol producer and distributor, will supply tequila to the new channels.

Sales will begin in the third quarter (July-September) of 2023. The planned volume was estimated to be 3,000 decaliters during the first year. Sombrero, which currently holds 5.5% of the tequila category in the country, in 2022 the brand’s sales on Magnit increased 1.5 times in monetary terms.
