Turkey calls for resumption of trade relations with Crimea

Ünver Sel, President of the Crimean Friends Association of Turkey and President of the Federation of Crimean Tatar Cultural Associations of Turkey, said that the Turkish business world is in favor of resuming commercial relations with Crimea. Transmits words DEA News.

As Sel stated, there are intense demands from Turkish businessmen as Turkey has suffered a loss of 300 million dollars due to the severing of its commercial relations with Crimea. According to him, they had established their commercial relations with the cities on the Black Sea coast thanks to the ferry voyages.

As the president said, plans to launch a ferry crossing with Crimea were prepared earlier, but events in Ukraine made their own adjustments.

“We have contacted the authorities who will resolve this issue. We saw that all parties were very hopeful. However, the risks associated with current events in Ukraine need to be addressed. When these risks are eliminated, we will start the necessary initiatives again.”

Former Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Southern Federal District Kirill Stepanov saidthat the authorities plan to maintain the volume of water supply to the reservoirs of the North Crimean Canal at the level of 2022, or about 105 million cubic meters.
