German banking institution Commerzbank AG has stopped serving payments sent to Russia. In this respect reported In the materials of the Polish Bank Handlowy w Warszawie (BHW), owned by Citigroup.
The publication pointed out that, according to the bank’s internal decision, Commerzbank has stopped all swaps on foreign payment orders to Russian banks. The only exception was for payments made to the Russian subsidiary of the financial group Commerzbank (Eurasia), where Commerzbank AG acts as the correspondent bank.
The Commerzbank website reports that the organization continues its work in Russia. While new business has been discontinued, support for existing international customers continues.
