At the end of last year, trade turnover between Russia and the European Union reached its maximum in eight years. DEA NewsWith reference to Eurostat data.
According to the data, in 2022, imports of goods from Russia to the European Union increased by a quarter to 203.4 billion euros, only 230 million euros less than the historical maximum recorded in 2012 (203.6 billion euros).
At the same time, exports from the European Union to Russia fell by 38.1% to 258.6 billion euros, the lowest level since 2005 by 55.2 billion.
In addition, the EU’s trade deficit with Russia reached 148.2 billion euros at the end of the year, doubling the previous year.
