In 2023, Russia’s export volume of petroleum products may decrease by 16% to 100 million tons. This was announced by Andrey Klepach, Chief Economist of the Russian State Development Corporation VEB.RF. Wrote agency TASS.
“There are great risks not only in oil, but also in petroleum products. Previously, we exported more than 140 million tons, mainly to Europe, including our factories, last year – already 122 million tons – we lost more than 20 million tons. This year it will be 100-110 million tons, maybe even less,” said Klepach.
In addition, according to the chief economist of VEB.RF, gas sales to other countries will fall to 137 billion cubic meters in 2022, while Russia exports 240 billion cubic meters of gas annually until 2021.
As Klepach points out, the volume of fuel exports to Europe has fallen by more than half. Most likely, Russia will only send gas to Europe via Turkey. He stated that it will take a long time for the republic to transform into a gas transportation hub.
In the press service of the International Energy Agency this week reportedIn January 2023, Russia’s revenue from oil and gas sales decreased by 38%.
