“So maybe it’s too early to say that we are completely independent from Russia. But we will soon find out if Europe can exist without Russian gas,” he said.

According to him, the April-June 2023 period will be decisive for Europe in order to understand whether European countries can prepare for the next winter.

He also added that Europe’s energy independence is linked to the fulfillment of contracts signed for gas purchases in other countries.
