Russian banks, covered by the new US sanctions, began to advise their customers to withdraw money from UnionPay payment system cards issued by these credit institutions. It has been reported TASS.

On February 24, US authorities announced new large-scale sanctions against Moscow, including on companies and politicians. 11 credit institutions came under restriction.

“Due to Primorye Bank being placed on the US sanctions list, transactions made abroad with UnionPay cards may be blocked. If you are abroad or going abroad, we recommend that you withdraw cash as soon as possible,” the officials of the organization made a statement.

Similar proposals were voiced by the bank “Saint-Petersburg”.

UnionPay is an international payment system founded in 2002.
