UN Secretary-General António Guterres, at a meeting of the UN Security Council on Ukraine, urged the parties to the grain agreement to extend it beyond its expiration date in March 2023. It has been reported TASS.
“I would like to stress the importance of all parties to the agreements and call for their extension beyond March 2023,” said the Secretary-General.
According to him, the UN aims to work to remove barriers to Russian food and fertilizer exports.
Earlier, the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, stated at a special session of the UN General Assembly on Ukraine that the grain agreement, which will expire in March, should be elongated.
Yuriy Vaskov, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine before that, to request Turkey and the UN will start negotiations to extend the grain deal for at least another year and include more Ukrainian ports.
