A large shipment of carbamide fertilizers worth €2 million from Belarus has been seized in Lithuania, Darius Zvironas, Director General of the Lithuanian Customs Department, told reporters. TASS.

According to Zhvironas, three thousand tons of Belarusian fertilizer were seized as part of the violation of the sanction regime and smuggling case.

He said that in connection with this incident, businesses in three cities in Lithuania were searched and two people were detained.

According to the Lithuanian Customs Department, the fertilizers were produced at the Grodno Nitrogen plant in the sanctioned city of Grodno, Belarus, where a different manufacturer was listed on the invoices. Fertilizers were delivered to Klaipeda State Sea Port by rail, bypassing the sanction regime.
