It is stated that when determining the prices of goods, works and services, it is envisaged to apply “the official rate of 2.5 Russian rubles for one Ukrainian hryvnia.” At the same time, it is forbidden to buy or sell hryvnia, exchanging them for rubles. Cashless payments can only be made in Russian currency.
The relevant decree will enter into force on March 26 and will be valid until July 1, 2022.
Local banks had to take the hryvnia as trade income while paying taxes, duties, and state taxes by the population and businesses.
The document states that people from regions that come under the control of the DPR will be able to open a bank account only in rubles, for which no commission will be charged.
