From February 14 to February 20, inflation in Russia was 0.06%, after 0.18% for February 7 – 13, 2023, reports interfaxWith reference to Rosstat.

The publication says the weekly price increase was the lowest since mid-December, followed by a 0.02% increase in prices from December 13-19. At that time, the low dynamics was explained by an abrupt 9.1% drop in airfares.

From the beginning of February to the 20th, prices increased by 0.46%, and from the beginning of the year by 1.30%.

According to the data, annual inflation in Russia decreased from 11.80% on 13 February as of 20 February, to 11.77% at the end of January and from 11.94% at the end of December to 11.54%.

In its examination, the institution noted that the biggest contribution to the slowdown in inflation was the slowdown in the rate of increase in the cost of fruits and vegetables and the resumption of price decreases in other products.

It is understood from the estimation of the Ministry of Economic Development that the inflation in 2023 will be 5.5%. In April, the agency plans to provide the government with updated macro forecast data for the current and subsequent years.
