The Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation approved the acquisition of 214 KFC franchise restaurants belonging to the Polish group of companies AmRest to the Russian company Almira. The agency RIA Novosti writes about it, citing the department’s message.
FAS noted that as of June last year, a total of 1,058 KFC joint fast food restaurants in Russia were operating under the franchising system. According to the report, at the end of November last year, the franchise to operate these food outlets was transferred to Smart Service Ltd from Yam Restaurants Russia.
“214 of these restaurants are owned by AmRest. As a result of the transaction, they will become the property of Almira company.
The ministry added that the agreement will not lead to restriction of competition in the Russian catering market.
