Food and fuel prices have increased in South Africa due to events around Ukraine, the radio station reported. SABC with reference to the country’s Statistical Service data.

Thus, at the beginning of March, annual prices of vegetable oils and fats were 22.7%, energy – 14.1%, meat – 8.6%, vegetables – 7.7%, wine – 6.9%, fish – 5% .3 percent. Flight ticket prices (7.3%), hotel rooms (6.3%) and restaurant meal prices (6.1%) increased.

The Statistics Service noted that events in Ukraine can greatly affect the supply of grain on the world market.
