The ban on European plumbing products will not affect the personal comfort of Russians, declaration Igor Georgi, president of the Sanitary Ware Manufacturers and Suppliers Association, in an interview with Reedus. Therefore, he commented on the EU’s plans to include in the next package of sanctions against the Russian Federation the export of toilets, sinks, bidets and other products for bathrooms. The expert emphasized that the share of these products coming from EU countries in the domestic market is low.
“If we are talking about sanitary ceramics, we have a large number of factories in Russia that produce these products. In addition, we have a very large import of these products from Asian countries, especially from China. Therefore, considering this package of sanctions, no deficit is expected at all.”
According to their estimates, about 5% of the Russian market falls on sanitary wares produced in EU countries.
