The US Department of Commerce has decided to impose export restrictions on six Chinese entities allegedly linked to military programs to use balloons. It has been reported TASS referring to the relevant document.

“The U.S. government has concluded that the actions of these six organizations are contrary to the interests of U.S. national security and foreign policy,” the U.S. Department of Commerce said in a statement.

According to the American authorities, these structures of the PRC were “blacklisted” to support the modernization work of the Chinese military, in particular the PLA aviation programs associated with the use of “airships and balloons”.

It was clarified that the restrictions would not allow the shipment of American goods to entities sanctioned by the U.S. Department of Commerce without first obtaining a special license.

At the end of January, the US Department of Commerce open Seven organizations from Iran were blacklisted for their assistance to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the Russian military-industrial complex (MIC).

In December, Reuters reported that the US Department of Commerce temporarily withdrawn Export privileges from three people and two companies for the supply of “sensitive goods” to Russia. The department believed that the resulting products helped Russia conduct a special operation in Ukraine, since some of the components received could be “used for military purposes.” The Ministry deprived individuals and companies of concession for 180 days.
