Rodrigo Baena Soares, Brazilian Ambassador to Russia reported RIA Novosti agency, where the Latin American country expects investment in the gas sector from Russian Gazprom.
“We expect investment from Gazprom in Brazil so that we have a significant presence in a large Russian company,” Soares said.
The Ambassador noted that the Brazilian authorities are developing a new regulatory framework for the country’s gas sector.
Citing statistics from the Brazilian National Confederation of Industry, RIA Novosti writes that investments under the new law could amount to around US$29 billion by 2030.
