Sber begins large-scale payment testing ticket, according to the bank’s press service. The tests will be free for customers, 100 thousand people will participate.
“Payment sticker allows you to pay with one tap. First of all, technology is needed by iPhone owners who are accustomed to contactless payments. They can now make such payments at Sberbank using a QR code, but payment label technology will expand this capability to a larger number of customers.
The bank explained that the sticker is affixed to a smartphone and looks like a regular bank card, but several times smaller. At the same time, there is no card number and codes confirming transactions on the sticker. You can pay with stickers wherever there is a contactless payment terminal. Also, this tool allows you to withdraw money from ATMs with contactless authorization.
According to Igor Kovalev, manager of the Customer Wallet division at Sberbank, testing was initiated with the participation of 100,000 customers to understand how popular this payment method would be.
“Based on the results of large-scale testing, we will decide on the introduction of payment labels into commercial operation. And most importantly, when deciding on a possible launch, we will take into account the feedback from testers to improve the product, because for us the most important thing is the convenience and comfort of our customers when using our payment services.”
