According to Piret Tinkus, Estonian department representative quoted in the message, fuel used for mechanical vehicles is also covered by EU sanctions. According to him, EU residents will only be allowed to purchase gasoline in Russia to such an extent that they will allow them to complete their trip and return to the EU.

As Tinkus explains, this means that the passenger has the right to import into the European Union the fuel contained in a standard car tank and intended for use in it.

Since 5 February, the European Union, together with the G7 (G7) and Australia introduced ceiling price for Russian oil products transported by sea. On Sunday, the embargo on the supply of petroleum products (gasoline, diesel, kerosene, naphtha and fuel oil) from Russia to the EU also came into effect.
