Russian and Chinese companies want to buy factories remaining in Russia after the departure of foreign companies LG, Bosch and Samsung “Kommersant” with reference to market sources. According to the publication, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is negotiating the localization of the production of the leaving companies.

According to publication sources, Russian companies Kuppersberg and Schaub Lorenz, which occupy less than 3% of the market, and the Chinese company Hisense are interested in buying and leasing assets.

The company Kuppersberg in Russia manufactures first-class kitchen fixtures, sinks, hoods, ovens, refrigerators, microwave ovens and specializes in the manufacture of built-in products. Schaub Lorenz also produces television. The production facilities of these Russian brands are located abroad, including in China and Turkey. Chinese Hisense exports a wide range of household appliances to the Russian market under the Toshiba and Gorenje brands.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade declined to comment on the companies’ capacity purchase plans, but supported the localization of high-tech industries.

BSH Home Appliances LLC, which represents Bosch’s interests in Russia, said it “does not comment on the rumors” but noted that the company is considering options against the backdrop of idle capacity. Representatives of Kuppersberg and Schaub Lorenz said that they have not yet met with representatives of companies leaving Russia, while options to localize production are being discussed through the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Samsung said there were no offers to buy capacity. LG and Hisense representatives refused to discuss these issues with reporters.

Prior to the suspension of production in Russia on March 5, 2022, a Samsung factory was operating in the Kaluga region for the production of TVs, monitors and washing machines. Bosch has not decided to suspend its activities in Russia, but St. Petersburg’s large factory ceased operations on March 15, 2022, due to EU sanctions. LG, which imposed restrictions on deliveries in Russia, retained a large plot of land in the village of Dorohovo and a factory with an area of ​​​​22 thousand square meters. km.
