The Russian Ministry of Finance (Minfin) justified imposing taxes on profits from cryptocurrency mining. At the same time, the Tax Law contains the necessary provisions for the introduction of this measure, informs The newspaper Izvestia, which refers to the press service of the department.
“The Ministry of Finance considers it fair to tax profits from cryptocurrency mining. The tax code contains all the necessary provisions for taxation of profits from this activity.
According to Anatoly Aksakov, chairman of the State Duma financial market committee, the authorities will either create an analogue of a single tax on imputed income, or an income tax of 20%. In the first case, it is assumed that the ratio will vary between 7.5% and 15%. These measures will make it possible for the cryptocurrency mining business to enter the legal field of activity.
“Thousands or even tens of thousands of people work in cryptocurrency mining, and most of them want to legalize their business. “There are already companies and individuals who voluntarily pay taxes on transactions with cryptocurrencies.”
December 30 Alexander Politaiko, founder of the MarsDAO ecosystem declarationIf the bill on mining developed by the State Duma is passed, it will not significantly affect cryptocurrency holders. Since the domestic market of the Russian Federation is largely dependent on the international market, the processes related to the legalization of cryptocurrency in Russia do not affect the market in any way.
