World Bank cuts eurozone GDP growth forecast to 0% in 2023

The volume of the eurozone’s gross domestic product (GDP) will not increase by the end of this year. At the same time, the US GDP will grow by 0.5% this year, while the growth rate of the Chinese economy will be 4.3%, informs “Prime” agency, with reference to the provisions of the January report of World Bank (WB) analysts.

“The forecast for the euro area was also reduced by – 1.9 points to 0%, for China – by 0.9 points to 4.3%. Growth in the United States is expected to decline to 0.5 percent in 2023, 1.9 percent below previous forecasts and the lowest level since 1970 excluding official recessions.

In total, the World Bank revised its forecasts downward for 95% of developed countries and 70% of developing countries. At the same time, Russia was no exception, it is stated in the note.
