Ukrainian dry cargo ship Glory refloated in Suez Canal

Stranded in the Suez Canal, the dry cargo ship MV Glory managed to get out of the water with the help of tugs. Agency reports Associated press.

It took three tugs to refloat the ship, according to the agency. Traffic in the Suez Canal is now back to normal.

“MV Glory ran aground near the city of Kantara in Ismailia province. <…> Authorities do not have any details on what caused the cargo ship to run aground. Some parts of Egypt, including the northern states, experienced a bad weather wave on Sunday.

It is reported that the ship carried 65 thousand tons of corn from Ukraine to China.

Formerly Ukrainian agribusiness club estimated 34% reduction in grain harvest in the country. Due to the conflict, the cultivation areas have been reduced. There is also a shortage of mineral fertilizers in the country.
