In December, the U.S. Department of Energy announced its intention to begin replenishing the Strategic Petroleum Reserve and purchased three million barrels next month to replenish depleted strategic reserve resources.
Bloomberg said the agency will delay the acquisition, but its program, which uses a new fixed price approach, will continue.
“The Department of Energy will only select offers that meet the required crude oil specifications and are at an advantageous price for taxpayers,” the U.S. Department of Energy said in a statement. Said.
