Gita Gopinath, First Deputy Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), said in an interview: Finance TimesThat the inflation in the US economy is still high and it is too early to talk about overcoming the related crisis.

He drew attention to labor market indicators and prices in the service sector. According to them, the situation with inflation remains difficult. Gopinat also recommended that the US Federal Reserve continue its key rate-raising policy.

Nearly eight out of ten people surveyed said economic difficulties this year came with high taxes and a growing budget deficit. Six out of ten respondents believe that prices will rise sharply and the stock market will crash again. Also, half of US residents expect the unemployment rate to rise.

Talking about the situation within the country, the majority of respondents (90%) said that this year will be full of political strife. Also, 72% expect an increase in crime, while 56% expect more than one union strike.
