Indonesia to launch its own cryptocurrency exchange

The Indonesian government will launch a national crypto exchange as part of its financial sector reform. reported Bloomberg agency.

The project is scheduled to be completed in 2023 before a new regulator is empowered to oversee the circulation of cryptocurrencies in the country.

Currently, the local Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Authority (BAPPEBTI) is in charge of overseeing crypto assets in Indonesia. The representative of this institution said that the Financial Services Authority (FSA) will take over this task in the next two years.

In the second half of December, the US Securities and Exchange Commission stated about two companies where bankrupt crypto exchange FTX has sent $200 million in funds from clients.
