Russia will not go to its knees with Western sanctions if the authorities continue to make decisions in the interests of citizens and businesses. Such an opinion in a chat with FAN expression financial analyst BitRiver Vladislav Antonov. At the same time, according to him, no recovery should be expected in the economy until the current crisis is over, because Western countries will try to break Moscow with restrictions.
“Western countries are spending all their strength to strangle Russia and will tighten sanctions. Europe has given up on oil and will continue this trend in Russian energy supplies. <…> So 2023 will not be an easy year. Western countries will certainly not be able to bring Russia to its knees if politicians continue to make decisions in the interests of citizens and businesses, ”the analyst said.
He added that in 2022, Russia managed to withstand the pressure of sanctions, primarily due to rising energy prices and the actions of the country’s leadership.
