Nikolai Utkin, Senior Vice President of Norilsk Nickel and Head of the Norilsk Division, spoke about the company’s most promising production projects in an interview with Severny Gorod TV Company.
Utkin chose the development of the Southern Cluster, the new Norilsk Concentration Plant (NOF-2) and others. According to him, the company is increasing production volumes at Bear Creek, updating its equipment and modernizing its underground business processes.
“As stated, we are continuing all preliminary project work on NOF-2. We determined the site where it will be located and its future configuration. We do not change deadlines here, ”said Utkin.
He also spoke about the construction of the Talnakh enrichment plant (TOF-3), where Norilsk Nickel plans to increase production to 18 million tons with the construction of the third phase.
“Somewhere I had to reorient myself on the spot, somewhere to find analogues and sign new contracts. Most importantly, we are realizing the TOF-3 construction project and we are implementing it in a quality way.”
Utkin added that in 2023, Norilsk Nickel will not only continue to develop production projects, but also support and develop the city of Norilsk. Construction of four more apartments will begin as part of the urban renewal program, and construction of the Ice Palace and Tower public space will begin as part of the company’s additional initiatives.
“We involve the best in city development projects. We take into account the opinions of the residents of Norilsk, recorded in the master plan of the city. We are also the contractors so that everything is really built … The main thing is that the company does not restrict production, renovation and socially ambitious projects and plans – we keep our promises, ”Utkin stressed.
