“It is necessary to evaluate not only the terminal (LNG in Klaipeda), but also all the infrastructure we have: both the Inchukalns gas storage facility (in Latvia) and the gas pipelines we have. Then all three countries can work. But this will no longer be a very comfortable operation,” Simonyte said on the News Radio broadcast.
Simonyte did not rule out a situation where there would be “a very, very cold winter and very, very large gas consumption.” The Lithuanian Prime Minister stated that restrictions may therefore be necessary for some large consumers.
