Russian President Vladimir Putin said banks in “unfriendly countries” are delaying payments for Russian energy supplies. This has been reported DEA Novosti.
“There are failures in payments for export deliveries of Russian energy resources. “Banks in these most hostile countries are delaying the transfer of payments.”
Putin added that partners from these countries agree that they cannot do without Russian energy resources, including natural gas, which currently has no substitute.
In his opinion, European states, declaring their rejection of resources from Russia, destabilize the market and contribute to increasing prices for citizens.

At the end of March, the Russian president signed a decree on gas trade with non-friendly countries (this list includes all EU countries), forcing these states to pay for energy resources in rubles.
At the same time, the Big Seven (G7) countries decided to call on local companies not to accept bills in rubles for Russian gas supplies. The relevant agreement was reached at an emergency meeting of the energy ministers of the US, UK, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan. Later, the European Union also joined this decision.
On April 1, Gazprom began to send official letters to counterparties about the new procedure for payment of gas in rubles.
