At the EU summit, European politicians could not agree on a gas price ceiling and the principle of joint gas purchases, the decision on these issues was postponed to the meeting of the heads of EU energy ministers, scheduled for 19 December in Brussels. “The Summit welcomed the progress made and called on the European Council to complete its work on proposals to increase solidarity through better coordination of gas purchases by 19 December. <…> and to establish reliable price metrics,” the document says.
