VTB has launched the tipping feature via Mir Pay. With the help of this payment system, customers will be able to leave their thanks via VTB.tips using the Mir card, the bank’s press service reported.

Therefore, VTB states that if previously Mir Pay could only be used to pay for purchases from offline stores, it can now be used to pay online as well.

To leave a tip using Mir Pay, simply scan the QR code, then specify the required amount on the payment page and click the “Mir Pay” button. On a mobile Android device, the Mir Pay payment service application must be installed, with which the customer can connect the Mir card.

As VTB Senior Vice President and Head of Digital Business Department Nikita Chugunov noted, the company launched VTB.Tip last year, and over the year the service has become one of the most popular in the HoReCa market. More than 200 thousand people have already used it.

“We first launched transfers through SBP, then we connected Yandex.Pay and now we are one of the first in the market to integrate the Mir Pay contactless payment service,” Chugunov said.

He emphasized that the new service is especially important against the background of the separation of foreign payment services from Russia for contactless payment.

“Given that paying with Mir cards in Russia is becoming more and more relevant today, in the future this method will be in high demand by a wide range of users of services and services. The transfer mechanism through Mir Pay is as simple as possible and does not require any extra action, but also saves a lot of time in thanking you for the service,” added VTB Senior Vice President.

The contactless tip payment service “VTB. Tip” appeared on the Russian market last fall. Via VTB.Tipping you can organize the collection of tips for an individual or a team. To connect the application, you need to leave a request on the website vtb.tips or install the mobile application “Tip the card using a QR code”.
