Ursula von der Leyen, head of the European Commission (EC), said the European Union will provide 30 million LED lamps and 800 generators to Kiev to stabilize Ukraine’s energy system. The EC president said this in a speech at a conference in Paris dedicated to helping Ukraine. TASS.
“We will provide Ukraine with 800 generators, including 40 large generators that can supply electricity to a hospital. The European Union will also donate 30 million LED lamps and urges other partners to donate 20 million more of such lamps. “This will save up to 1 gigawatt-hour of electricity per year, which is the amount produced by a nuclear power plant.”
Von der Leyen noted that LED lamps and power generators will be supplied to Ukraine through a center being created in Poland, and that, according to him, “it will start working from next week”.
Formerly Ursula von der Leyen, since 2014 EU countries selected 90 billion euros in financial aid to Ukraine, next year Kiev will receive another 18 billion euros from the European Union.
