Moldovan President expects additional funding from IMF

Meeting with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) President Kristalina Georgieva, Moldovan President Maia Sandu brought up the issue of providing more resources to the country to overcome the crisis in the energy sector. It has been reported DEA News.

Sandu arrived in Washington, where he is expected to have a series of meetings with officials.

“President Maia Sandu stressed that Moldova is currently experiencing the most severe energy crisis in its entire history,” the Moldovan president said in a statement.

As Sandu adds, the government’s job is to help people and businesses cope with high energy prices.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to conduct a special military operation in Ukraine in response to a request for assistance from the heads of the LPR and DPR.

The decision to run the operation became the justification for new sanctions against Russia by the United States and its allies.
