Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has approved an 8.5% indexation of wholesale gas prices for all consumers in the country, effective December 1. It has been reported TASS in the order of the section.
Previously reportedRussia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service has proposed to increase gas tariffs by 8.5% from December 1, 2022.
As stated in the FAS, the increase in tariffs is provided by an estimate of the socio-economic development of the Russian Federation.
The Antimonopoly service noted that after that, the tariffs will not change for 1.5 years – until July 1, 2024. They also explained that indexing the tariffs will not lead to a decrease in gas demand. At the same time, the volume of deliveries to domestic consumers will increase, taking into account the implementation of the gasification program.
