Kyodo: 23% of Japanese manufacturers surveyed plan to increase prices in 2023

In 2023, almost a quarter of Japanese manufacturers, or 23%, plan to increase the prices of their products due to rising production costs. About Wrote Kyodo agency, which conducted a survey among the 107 largest companies and companies in the country.

According to the research, Toyota, Nintendo and cosmetics giant Shiseido are among those considering increasing the price of their products. At the same time, 49% of the companies surveyed stated that they have not made a decision on this issue yet.

In 2023, 6% of the enterprises whose representatives participated in the survey plan to increase the salaries of their employees. The other 30% of respondents have yet to decide whether to increase fees.
