The United States Department of the Treasury has granted general licenses to conduct transactions for the supply of crude oil from Russia to Japan, Bulgaria, Croatia and other non-landlocked EU countries. DEA News.
The general license states that “all transactions related to the import of crude oil to Bulgaria, Croatia or the landlocked member states of the European Union are permitted”.
It was also noted that crude oil supplies from the Sakhalin-2 project were allowed to Japan.
The document states that “All operations related to the transportation of crude oil produced in the Sakhalin-2 project by sea are permitted until September 30, 2023, provided that the Sakhalin-2 production product is fully imported into Japan.”
