Autonomous combat vehicles are the concept of the future and all countries are trying to implement it.
So in Germany, Rheinmetall created the Autonomous Combat Warrior Wiesel (ACW Wiesel, translated from German as the Autonomous Combat Warrior Weasel). This “predatory marten-like mammal” (Laska) was developed by a German defense company for the sole purpose of “social security”.
ACW Wiesel is “controlled” by a unit that can be installed on any vehicle, including Boxer, Lynx or HX military trucks.
The car is started by the driver, who initiates autonomous mode by indicating the destination to Laske on the tablet. ACW Wiesel can dodge trees and large rocks and follow other vehicles to their destination when convoy mode is activated.
The car can also be controlled by a driver sitting inside or with a remote control.
