Iran Khodro showed the Tara EV sedan. This is an electric version of the Tara sedan, which the company will be selling in Russia. The presentation took place in the home country of the brand, in Iran. Most of the major components will be mastered in the country.
But the problems with electric vehicles in Iran are somewhat similar to ours: the infrastructure for charging has yet to be built there.
The Tara EV electric motor develops 160 hp. and 300 Nm, which accelerates to 100 km/h in 9 seconds. Maximum speed – 140 km / h. 45 kW battery. With h, according to khodrobank.com, you can travel 300 km on a single charge. It is possible to fully recover the battery of a regular network in 10 hours and when using a fast charging station you can charge it in 30 minutes.
The company hopes that production of batteries and electric motors for Tara EV will start next year. The electric sedan itself is planned to be produced in the amount of 5,000 cars per year, and taxi fleets should become the first area of use.
In Russia, Iran Khodro only has plans for the petrol version of Tara. But if an electric one appears, it could become an interesting asset in the correspondence (for now) confrontation with a classmate in the face of Lada Vesta NG, which will be launched in Tolyatti in March 2023. An electric version for the renewed Vesta is not yet planned.
- Nevertheless, AVTOVAZ has already started electrification of the model range, albeit a very partial one: the electric Largus EV prescribed for development at the Izhevsk Automobile Plant is now officially included in one of the three new AVTOVAZ projects.
- “Behind the wheel” can be read in Odnoklassniki.
The company Iran Khodro is going to bring us the Tara sedan, made on the Peugeot 301 platform. Look at the version (and even with two interior configuration options) that the Iranians showed at home.
Details about the competitor Lada Vesta NG – the Russian car will not have this!
