Unofficial data on the imminent transfer of production of the Lada Vesta family from Izhevsk to Tolyatti continue to appear with enviable regularity. On an official level, this information has never been confirmed. At the same time, the Avtograd news community reports on VKontakte that the last week will be the last in which the Lada Izhevsk plant was engaged in welding Vesta bodies.
According to the source, the last 240 bodies needed to assemble the commercial Vesta NG (a restyled version to replace the current Vesta) will be produced – it was for this number of cars that we were able to find components.
Next week, the author of the message writes, a large-scale dismantling of welding stations and the shipment of this equipment to Togliatti will begin. In turn, the Togliatti plant starts dismantling welding stations intended for Renault production. The vacated space will be used for the transferred equipment – for welding the bodies of Vesta.
According to the source, the president of AvtoVAZ Maxim Sokolov and the governor of Udmurtia Alexander Brechalov will visit Izhevsk in the first half of August, where they will officially announce the decisions on the enterprise. Keep in mind that production of Vesta (probably at a new location in Togliatti) is expected to resume in early 2023.
- In the meantime, the manufacturer is going to sell the first batch of the updated family, assembled in March at the Izhevsk Automobile Plant.
